MAHD SHERIFF

Mahd Sheriff, 13, a student at Delhi Private School in Sharjah, is a published writer with excellent writing abilities. Mahd is consistently among the best students in terms of academic performance in addition to his incredible literary talent. Mahd has never had an annual aggregate grade below 90% during his school experience.

Mahd was one of Delhi Private School, Sharjah's Asset toppers in 2021, attaining above 95% in all subjects. He was the President of Editorial and currently acts as the Prefect of Danube House for Middle School. Returning to literature, Mahd was twice given the honor to represent his school in the UNESCO Voices of Future Generation Story Writing Competition.

Two of his articles have appeared in the International Youth Journal, one of the principal venues for young people to exchange ideas and knowledge. Mahd received his third Scholar Badge in a row in 2022—an honor given to pupils who excelled in their academic work and out of which two were Outstanding Scholar Badges.

All is not lost in the realm of academia; Mahd, a keen sports fan, played for some of the biggest MLB Baseball Teams in the Dubai Little League. He was the Little League Champion while playing for the Philadelphia Phillies, among other teams he played for such as the Miami Marlins, Chicago Cubs, and Texas Rangers. His filmmaking abilities are not to be overlooked. In the DPS CSFF Movie-Making Competition, his film "DCT-19" (a silent humorous picture about the end of the covid pandemic) was nominated for best film.

Many of Mahd's deeds have highlighted his concern for the environment. He has recycled approximately 100 kg of paper at DPS. His book, "Meanwhile, Out There...", which was well-received by teachers, demonstrates concern for the environment and animals while also teaching more about the SDGs. Mahd has also contributed hundreds of grains of rice using the WFP Freerice App and inspired many other students to do the same. Mahd was also a member of DPS's MIC Model United Nations.
