Founded in 2005 and located in the thriving Emirates Hills area of Dubai, DBS is a purpose built British international school, offering England's National Curriculum, the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), GCSE and A Level.
The school achieved CIS accreditation in 2009 - 2010 and is part of a family of schools, offering a variety of international curricula run by the Taaleem management group. Although the majority of its student population are British, DBS caters for over 63 different nationalities and celebrates the diversity of its student body. ....

The majority of the school's graduates are placed in UK universities, while others successfully apply for places in American, Australian and universities around the world.
The school offers a very wide range of activities for Primary and Secondary children and there is a thriving International Award for Young People (IAYP) programme. Students participate fully in a broad range of local and international activities, including musical theatre, Model UN and Global Challenge. There is a strong programme for competitive sports, and the school competes successfully both locally and regionally.
DBS is open to all students who are able to access a British education in the medium of English, while offering support to a limited number of children with moderate learning difficulties. The Gifted and Able programme challenges students to extend their achievement in academic, sporting and cultural spheres.
The DBS teaching team is highly experienced and talented, with outstanding expertise in The National Curriculum for England (NCfE), and the highest educational and ethical standards. The majority of teachers at DBS come from the United Kingdom and leading British international schools from around the world. All our teachers are qualified to degree level, hold a PGCE (Teaching Certificate) and have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status). They also take part in regular professional development programmes to ensure they remain at the forefront of the latest educational methodology. We are proud of our diverse and high quality teaching staff who have experience of a range of educational systems, including the International Baccalaureate, the Australian Curriculum as well as The National Curriculum for England. Our teaching team is ably assisted by an equally enthusiastic administrative and support team. Through this we ensure stability and consistency, both vital factors in teacher-pupil relationships and successful learning. Our international team of administrative staff are hired locally and internationally.
