Q1. Are Mayoor School’s learning opportunities and techniques mirroring what you want to see in the classroom?

I have had the pleasure of working with many educators around the world and hearing about their individual journeys, as well as organizational success and struggles toward the building of a “culture of innovation. Our teachers are well trained and given a free hand to explore innovative and creative ideas when it comes to teaching. This way, the students can grasp information faster. We create what we experience.

Q2. Are your policies and procedures inhibiting innovative practices?

In earlier times, parents had to stand in long queues to collect admission registration forms. Today, at Mayoor School, everything is done online. The admission registration form is available on our website. Our team takes it forward from there. This is just one of the procedures. There are many – naming a few below.

  • At our events, parents scan the QR codes and fill in their feedback and reviews.

This also helps improve collaboration, IT skills, publishing, sharing and searching for information, faster visualization, quicker reporting, paperless homework, learning simulations, etc. Instead of carrying heavy backpacks to school, students can reduce weight by loading e-textbooks and classroom materials to a single device.

When considering technology and special education students, it’s important to get the priorities right. To be successful, the focus must be on the student who will be using that technology, not just on the technology itself. Identifying where the student needs assistance is the first step. The goal of any assistive technology is to allow students to perform at the level that their age and grade dictates. Special technology can make it possible for a student to stay in his or her class instead of being sent to a special program away from friends and peers.
