School Overview

Welcoming families from all nationalities, Repton School in Dubai offers the very best in British education, within the context of an international boarding community, epitomised by the school’s philosophy of ‘the best for every child’. Repton has state-of-the-art facilities and amenities and is situated on a spacious campus of 1.3million sqft, making it the largest school in the region. From a starting cohort of 500 pupils in September 2008, the senior school now has more than 750 pupils from Year 7 (grade 6) through to Year 13 (grade 12). When including the lower school, Repton now has more than 2300 pupils on roll. Our pupils benefit from an international curriculum based on the British independent and national curricula. Our clear aim and purpose is to provide the best teaching and learning environment in which all our pupils will achieve their very best academically, physically and socially. By working closely with all our parents, we aim to develop young people who will have all the tools they need to succeed in a rapidly changing, highly competitive, global society. We offer a full range of IGCSEs, in addition to the IB Diploma with a choice of 45 subjects. The school was granted IB World School status on 1st April 2009; only six months after the Senior School opened its doors. Of the 2,590 IB World Schools, across 134 countries, it is the only one of three schools to achieve this prestigious accolade in such a short span of time. The academic programme is organised into three terms. In Years 7-9 (Grades 6-8), pupils are taught core subjects (Maths, English, Science) in ability groups and non-core subjects in mixed ability groups. At the end of Year 9 (Grade 8), students, after participating in a full guidance programme, choose their IGCSE options and follow these over a two year period. At the end of Year 11, (Grade 10), pupils are awarded their IGCSE certificates and those achieving a minimum of 6 passes at grade B are invited to join the sixth form to follow the full IB Diploma.
